    visa for 6 month stay in Schengen country

    My husband and I want to take a 6 month vacation in Europe, mainly staying in Italy.  We will fly to and from Frankfurt because it's the shortest trip for our dog in cargo.  But soon after landing in Germany, we'll go to Italy, visit Prague, and possibly other countries.  The question is: which country should we apply for the extended visa from?

    eed a little more info but I am assuming you hold an American passport? Also there are lots of restrictions for bringing a dog into Europe. If you are American and unless you are in one of the Schengen countries with a work visa or educational visa you are limited to 90 days in 180 days

    Hello, we too want to pursue an extended stay in Italy. We understand we are limited to 90 days within each 180. I've read Matt's article. We intend to rent an apartment in the town we've been visiting for the past ten years. We need to better understand Italian temporary residency. We'd like to hear about it from someone who has gone through the process. Thank you!
