    Foshan or Shenzhen?

    Hi everybody! I recently got an English teaching job offer for either Foshan or Shenzhen. I was wondering if anyone can shed any insight about either of the cities regarding these topics:

    • How much Mandarin do both cities speak? I can speak it conversationally well
    • What is the living cost difference between the two cities
    • Food?

    people in Foshan, many speak Cantonese, people in SZ , mostly Mandarin, but livng expense is higher for sure. yet all worthy.


    I am in SZ, used to live in the US. welcome to contact my wechat is Margaret-K , I know many HR in SZ. maybe can refer you to them .

    Shenzhen has more foreign people there, and higher living cost.

    Shenzhen is more morden city with more conveience and high living cost.

    more poeple speak mandarin in Shenzhen since it is a city full of people all over China.
